WAKE FOREST, NC – The large dog park at Flaherty Dog Park, 1100 N. White St., will reopen at sunrise on Saturday, Dec. 13. The large dog park has been closed due to fencing damaged during a single vehicle crash on the evening of December 5.
Crews are installing temporary fencing and gates today which will permit the large dog park’s reopening on Saturday.
The large dog park is scheduled for closure again beginning Monday, Jan. 5. The park will remain closed for approximately one month, so crews can erect permanent fencing, install a drainage system, remove three dead trees, and make soil erosion repairs. Additional details will be provided later this month. For more information, email PRCR Maintenance Manager Randy Hoyle at rhoyle@wakeforestnc.gov.
The Town of Wake Forest opened Flaherty Dog Park in June 2007. The three-acre park features a paved entrance and two exercise areas. Each of the fenced areas – one for small dogs and one for larger dogs – includes grass cover, picnic tables, shade trees, waste stations, and a water fountain for both dogs and people.
