Downed tree & power lines cause power outages & road closure along Jenkins Road

***UPDATE - Jenkins Road has reopened and power has been restored.

The information below was posted at 7:45 a.m.:

Jenkins RoadWAKE FOREST, NC – The portion of Jenkins Road from Fullard Drive to Chillmark Avenue is closed due to a downed tree, broken utility pole, and downed power lines. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.

Approximately 130 Wake Forest Power customers are without power. Wake Forest Power crews are responding and expect power to be restored by 1 p.m.

Affected areas include, but are not limited to, Hogan Drive, McGowan Court, Palmer Court, Simpson Court, Kings Way Court, Chillmark Avenue, Tenbridge Court, and Middlestone Court.
