WAKE FOREST, NC – On Thursday, May 14, local Democratic Party leaders nominated Wake Forest Commissioner Haseeb Fatmi to complete the remaining term of former State Sen. Terence Everitt. Elected to the Board of Commissioners (BOC) in November 2025, Fatmi will take over Senate District 18 which represents parts of Wake and Granville County.
Fatmi’s appointment to another elected office will require him to vacate his seat on the BOC.
Town officials will discuss how to fill Fatmi’s vacant seat. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
