- The following residents submitted applications for consideration: Roxanne Aaron, Abigail Noelle Black, David Blackwelder, John Daugherty, Jasper Denton, Roger Deutsch, Joan Falvey, Daniel Hupp, Ricky Prill, David Rich, Nick Sliwinski, David Vaughn, Kala Wilson, and Jasmine Zavala.
- From these 14 applicants, the Board of Commissioners will select five to interview during the Tuesday, Feb. 3, work session.
- Following the interviews, the Board will vote to appoint one person to fill the term that will commence immediately and expire in December 2027.
WAKE FOREST, NC – From December 19 through January 14, the Town of Wake Forest accepted applications from residents interested in fulfilling the unexpired term of former commissioner and current Mayor Ben Clapsaddle.
The following residents submitted applications for consideration: Roxanne Aaron, Abigail Noelle Black, David Blackwelder, John Daugherty, Jasper Denton, Roger Deutsch, Joan Falvey, Daniel Hupp, Ricky Prill, David Rich, Nick Sliwinski, David Vaughn, Kala Wilson, and Jasmine Zavala.
From these 14 applicants, the Board of Commissioners will select five to interview during the Tuesday, Feb. 3, work session. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St.
The five will be selected via board member scoring. Each will score his/her top five applicants and submit their rankings to the Town Clerk by close of business on Friday, Jan. 23. The Town Clerk will then tally the totals to determine the overall top five.
Selected candidates will be invited to appear before the Board and explain why they wish to serve. Following the interviews, the Board will vote to appoint one person to fill the term that will commence immediately and expire in December 2027.
Mr. Clapsaddle was elected to a four-year-term on the BOC in November 2023. He then ran for and was elected mayor in November 2025. Mr. Clapsaddle was sworn in as mayor during the December 16, 2025, Board of Commissioners meeting leaving his seat on the board vacant with two years remaining on his unexpired term.
