Wake Forest Charity Car Show

Wake Forest Charity Car Show discontinued

Since its inception, the Wake Forest Charity Car Show was planned and produced by Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. (WFD) - a small board of community volunteers dedicated to promoting the health and economic vitality of downtown Wake Forest.

Recent Challenges

The COVID pandemic and related gathering restrictions forced WFD to cancel the car show in 2020 and 2021.

Prior to that, the Car Show required approximately six months of planning and the efforts of dozens of volunteers from various community organizations. Increased residential growth and development along South White Street between Elm Avenue and East Holding Avenue introduced additional challenges specifically in regard to scheduling events in those areas.

As a result of these and other factors, WFD voted in fall 2021 to discontinue the Charity Car Show.

WFD will continue to explore opportunities for other downtown events but has no plans to bring back the Charity Car Show.

Kars for Kids

The Optimist Club, which was involved in the Charity Car Show, has introduced its own car show – Kars for Kids. The event is offered each year in September in the Big Lots parking lot off Capital Boulevard.
