Wake Forest Historic District Walking Tours

The Town of Wake Forest will offer the following free Wake Forest Historic District Walking Tours during the spring of 2018:

  • Wednesday, April 4

  • Wednesday, April 18

  • Wednesday, April 25

  • Thursday, May 3

  • Thursday, May 10

  • Thursday, May 17

  • Thursday, May 24

Tour times will be announced in the coming days.

Walking Tour Overview
These tours will include areas along North Main Street, North Avenue, Front Street, and South Avenue.

Along the way, each group will discuss the developmental and architectural history of the area, along with the significant men and women who lived in the homes. Please note: Tours will not include individual homes.

Know Before You Go 

  • Tours will start promptly at the designated time and be led by architectural historian and Town Historic Preservation Planner Michelle Michael.

  • Each tour will begin at the corner of North Main Street and Walnut Street and end at the Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 N. Main St. Following each tour, participants may visit the museum and the Dr. Calvin Jones House.

  • Tours take approximately two hours.

  • Space is limited to the first 12 participants to sign up.

  • Pre-registration is required by completing the sign-up form below.

Parking is available behind the Wake Forest Historical Museum and along Juniper Avenue. A limited number of parking spaces are also available along Walnut Street.

Inclement Weather
In the event inclement weather forces the cancellation of a scheduled tour, an email notification will be sent to everyone who has pre-registered announcing the cancellation and the make-up date.
