Collection Assistance Program
The Town of Wake Forest Collection Assistance Program (CAP) provides backyard pickup of trash and recycling for residents who are physically unable to wheel their carts to the curb and have no one living with them who can do it.
The Town is currently in the process of updating the CAP.
A 2019 internal review of the initiative identified the need for administrative changes to ensure that residents currently served by the program meet one of the following requirements:
have a permanent disability, and no able-bodied person residing with them to move containers to the curb; or
have a temporary disability, and no able-bodied person residing with them to move containers to the curb.
As part of the Town's effort to update the CAP, all current participants, who wish to remain in the program, must re-submit the enrollment application no later than April 1, 2019.
Please note: Part B of the application must be completed by a physician or physician’s assistant.
Completed applications must be received by April 1, 2019 and may be submitted online; mailed or delivered to Collection Assistance Program, Public Works Department, 234 Friendship Chapel Road, Wake Forest NC 27587; or emailed to Betty Pearce.
All applications received by the April 1, 2019, deadline will be reviewed by Public Works staff. Applicants will be notified regarding their CAP status no later than April 30, 2019. Please be advised that as part of the application review process, our staff may schedule a site visit to ensure trash and recycling carts are accessible to Town contractors and crews.
In the event you no longer wish to participate in the CAP, please call 919-435-9570 or email Betty Pearce and we will update your account.
Thank you in advance for your attention and understanding. Our goal is to ensure that eligible Wake Forest residents continue to receive backyard garbage and recycling pickup. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
