Police Department suspends fingerprinting service indefinitely

The Wake Forest Police Department is suspending live scan fingerprinting service while it completes an upgrade of its fingerprinting equipment.

The Police Department typically provides fingerprinting service to the public on Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. at the Police Department Main Station, 225 E. Taylor St. The cost is $10 for Wake Forest residents and $15 for non-Wake Forest residents.

There is no timetable on when the service will resume but when it does, the police department will issue an announcement notifying the public.

In the meantime, area residents have two other local fingerprinting service options, including the Raleigh/Wake City-County Bureau of Identification (CCBI) and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Raleigh/Wake CCBI, 3301 Hammond Road, Raleigh, offers fingerprinting service daily from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The fee is $15. Walk-ins are accepted, but priority is given to previously-scheduled appointments. For more information or to make an appointment, call 919-856-6300.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 285 T Kemp Road, Louisburg, offers fingerprinting services to the public during normal business hours. The cost is $10, and the telephone number is 919-496-2186.
