Battle in the Forest - Challenge of the Cities
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department is introducing an exciting new format to its Battle in the Forest eSports gaming tournaments. On Saturday, Dec. 18, from 1-6 p.m. the “Challenge of the Cities” will bring together Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources; Holly Springs Parks & Recreation; and the Durham Sports Commission for a special eSports tournament featuring “Rocket League.” Bragging rights will be on the line as “Challenge of the Cities” proves which participating city reigns supreme in eSports.
Open to players ages 12 and older, the online tournament is free to play and will be live streamed on Twitch.tv.
Registration is open through Wednesday, Dec. 15
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will host a Virtual Bass Fishing Tournament for ages 13 and older and a Virtual Youth Fishing Tournament for ages 12 and under November 22-December 5. Over this two-week period, local anglers are encouraged to visit any public fishery in Wake or Franklin County to try and catch the biggest fish. Participants in the Youth Fishing Tournament may catch any species of fish, while anglers in the Bass Fishing Tournament will be limited to bass only.
Online registration for both tournaments is available through Thursday, Nov. 4.
The cost to participate is $10 for the bass tournament and $5 for the youth tourney.
Participants in the bass tourney will receive a fishing scale to be used in the competition, while contestants in the youth tournament will receive an “Early Fisherman” packet.
