Water Main Break Closes Portion of South Main Street
UPDATE: 1:30 am - South Main Street/US 1-A has reopened. Normal traffic flow has been restored.

City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department (CORPUD) officials say crews have repaired the water main that ruptured earlier this evening along South Main Street/US 1-A in the vicinity of The Lodge at Wake Forest, 1151 S. Main St.
Over the next few hours crews will backfill the excavated area of South Main Street/US 1-A, then patch the road.
South Main Street/US 1-A is expected to reopen no later than 4 a.m. Tuesday.
South Main Street/US 1-A in the vicinity of The Lodge at Wake Forest, 1151 S. Main St., is closed due to a water main break. It is unclear what caused the main to rupture or the number of affected residents.
Crews from the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department are working to repair the leak, but there is no timetable for when South Main Street/US 1-A will reopen.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
