UPDATE: Traffic Alert – Ligon Mill Road
Due to inclement weather during the week of Sept. 26, a contractor working on behalf of the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will reduce to one lane with alternating two-way traffic portions of Ligon Mill Road from South Main Street/US 1A to Burlington Mills Road Monday, Oct. 3, through Wednesday, Oct. 5. The initiative is scheduled to take place each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The work is necessary to allow crews to rebuild the existing road shoulders.
Flaggers will be in place managing traffic flow and safely directing motorists through the work area. Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route if possible.
The Town of Wake Forest provides this information as a public service. Motorists are reminded that weather and road conditions can change rapidly and should plan accordingly. When traveling through a construction area, drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians are asked to be patient, proceed with caution and obey flaggers at all times. Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of work. Dates, times and work locations are subject to change due to inclement weather or last-minute changes in work schedules.
