No police department fingerprinting service today
Due to limited staff, the Wake Forest Police Department will not provide live scan fingerprinting service today, Thursday, May 16.
The police department typically provides the service to the public on a first-come, first-served basis on Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. at the Police Department Main Station, 225 E. Taylor St. Space is limited each week to the first 12 people to arrive and sign in.
The cost is $10 for Wake Forest residents and $15 for non-residents. Only cash and checks are accepted, but checks must be made out for the exact amount and a valid picture ID is required for identification.
Fingerprinting service is expected to resume next Thursday, May 23.
In the meantime, area residents have two other local fingerprinting service options, including the Raleigh/Wake City-County Bureau of Identification (CCBI) and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Raleigh/Wake CCBI, 3301 Hammond Road, Raleigh, offers fingerprinting service daily from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The fee is $15. Walk-ins are accepted, but priority is given to previously-scheduled appointments. For more information or to make an appointment, call 919-856-6300.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 285 T Kemp Road, Louisburg, offers fingerprinting services to the public during normal business hours. The cost is $10, and the telephone number is 919-496-2186.
