Music at Midday returns Thursday with Blue Cactus

You’re invited to listen to great music and dine outside, while enjoying the end of the summer season during Wake Forest’s Music at Midday weekly concert series. Co-sponsored by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department and ARTS Wake Forest, the free music series begins this Thursday, Sept. 12, and continues every Thursday through Oct. 3. Scheduled from noon-1 p.m., Music at Midday will feature a variety of local performers and take place in Centennial Plaza, in front of the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St.

This year’s fall concert lineup includes Blue Cactus (cosmic country/Americana) on Sept. 12; M.S.G. Acoustic Blues Trio (blues, gospel and ragtime) on Sept. 19; DryBread Road (bluegrass, popular, folk, rock, blues, country and Cajun) on Sept. 26; and Lydia Salett Dudley and Lou Padro (jazz and soul) on Oct. 3. Please note: Music at Midday was scheduled to begin Thursday, Sept. 5, with Lydia Salett Dudley and Lou Padro. Due to Hurricane Dorian, the concert was postponed and rescheduled for Oct. 3.

Area residents are encouraged to bring lunch - either from home or a local restaurant – relax and enjoy the entertainment during Music at Midday. Lumpy’s Ice Cream will be on site during each concert selling desserts and sweet treats.
