CORPUD crews responding to water main break along South Main Street/US 1A

Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 3:15pm

Crews from the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department (CORPUD) are responding to a water main break along the 1100 block of South Main Street/US 1A in the vicinity of The Lodge at Wake Forest.

For the safety of work crews, a cone system will be employed in the work zone to merge the northbound lane of South Main Street/US 1A into the center lane. As a result, southbound traffic will be unable to utilize the center turn lane.

Signage and cones will be in place to safely direct motorists through the work area. Traffic delays are expected, so motorists are urged to avoid the area and take an alternate route if possible.

The repair is expected to be completed and all lanes of traffic reopened by midnight.
