2021 Veterans Day Holiday Schedule

Tuesday, November 2, 2021 - 11:23am

The Wake Forest Town Hall and other administrative offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Yard waste and loose leaf collection will be suspended November 11, but trash and recycling collection will not be interrupted. Wake Forest Bus Service, including the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express and the Wake Forest Loop, will also follow the normal schedule.

During the week of November 8, yard waste crews will attempt to complete the normal five-day yard waste collection cycle in four days beginning with Monday’s route and ending with Friday’s route. So, from Monday-Wednesday, crews will run the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday routes, along with a portion of Thursday’s route, then on Friday, finish Thursday’s route before completing the Friday route.

In order to ensure that all neighborhoods are serviced properly, residents are urged to leave their normal yard waste and loose leaves in separate piles at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8. As always, please avoid placing items on or near mailboxes, utility boxes, utility poles or other fixed objects.

Wake Forest residents can track the progress of leaf collection crews by calling the Leaf Collection Hotline at 919-435-9582. The hotline is updated each weekday morning by 8 a.m. with information concerning where crews will be working that day.

Town offices will reopen Friday, Nov. 12, at 8 a.m.

Wake Forest residents can stay informed about the Town’s trash, recycling and yard waste collection programs, including changes to the normal collection schedules, by signing up for the “Waste Wizard.” Available on the Town’s website at http://bit.ly/WFWasteWizard, the Waste Wizard is an interactive tool that allows users to sign up for waste collection reminders and download collection schedules. As a bonus, the Waste Wizard is provided as a function on the Town of Wake Forest app. For more information or to download the Town app, visit http://bit.ly/TOWFApp.
