Adult Day Care Programs & Services for Seniors
The Town of Wake Forest partnered with Aging Care Matters and the Northern Wake Senior Center to host a free webinar on “Adult Day Care Programs & Services for Seniors” on Thursday, Oct. 28.
The webinar featured a presentation by Advanced Professional Aging Life Care Manager Carla Payne who highlighted adult day care options in our area and other programs available to assist community caregivers. The session also included a 30-minute question-and-answer period.
Owner of Aging Care Matters, LLC, Carla earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and master’s in counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2004 she became an Ombudsman serving as an advocate for those living in skilled care facilities. Carla also earned a certificate in Gerontology from West Chester University and her National Certification in Care Management. Over the past 12 years she has provided direction, intervention, and solutions to families in need. In addition, she has served as a chapter board member and unit leader with The Aging Life Care Association in both Pa & NC. She was recently recognized as the 2019 SE Chapter Member of the Year which consists of care managers within 6 states and currently serves as President-Elect.
Carla is involved in her community with the Chamber of Commerce, she is a board member and Co-education chair of the Seniors Information Group of Wake Forest (SING) and is past president of the WF chapter of Women in Networking.
Carla's company, Aging Care Matters, LLC provides Home Safety, Cognitive and Resource Eligibility Assessments; Care Oversight; Planning and problem-solving; Education and advocacy; Family caregiver coaching/counseling; and Crisis intervention.
