Adult Day Care Programs & Services for Seniors

The Town of Wake Forest is partnering with Aging Care Matters and the Northern Wake Senior Center to host a free webinar on “Adult Day Care Programs & Services for Seniors” on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 6-7 p.m.

The webinar will feature a presentation by Advanced Professional Aging Life Care Manager Carla Payne who will highlight adult day care options in our area and other programs available to assist community caregivers. The session will also include a 30-minute question-and-answer period.

“I am often asked about adult day care and the availability of community resources,” said webinar organizer and Wake Forest Commissioner Adam Wright. “We want to make sure that residents who are caring for adults and need assistance know what help is available to them.”

Residents may also watch the information webinar live on WFTV 10. The Town’s government access channel is available to residents and businesses that subscribe to Spectrum Cable TV service. WFTV 10 is also provided in real-time streaming video

Carla PayneAbout Carla Payne, MA, CMC, Advanced Professional Aging Life Care Manager

Owner of Aging Care Matters, LLC, Carla earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and master’s in counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2004 she became an Ombudsman serving as an advocate for those living in skilled care facilities. Carla also earned a certificate in Gerontology from West Chester University and her National Certification in Care Management. Over the past 12 years she has provided direction, intervention, and solutions to families in need. In addition, she has served as a chapter board member and unit leader with The Aging Life Care Association in both Pa & NC. She was recently recognized as the 2019 SE Chapter Member of the Year which consists of care managers within 6 states and currently serves as President-Elect.

Carla is involved in her community with the Chamber of Commerce, she is a board member and Co-education chair of the Seniors Information Group of Wake Forest (SING) and is past president of the WF chapter of Women in Networking. 

Carla's company, Aging Care Matters, LLC provides Home Safety, Cognitive and Resource Eligibility Assessments; Care Oversight; Planning and problem-solving; Education and advocacy; Family caregiver coaching/counseling; and Crisis intervention.
