Make a Difference, Become a Volunteer!

The Wake Forest Fire Department is a combination department which means it relies on both career and volunteer staff to operate. Just because a volunteer doesn't earn a paycheck doesn't mean we require any less commitment for professionalism from volunteers than from career personnel. Volunteers are not just "window dressing" - they're an integral part of our community protection program, and we're looking for serious, dedicated men and women qualified to join our team.

From fighting fires, providing medical aid, assisting at emergency scenes, educating the public about fire safety, or providing administrative support, there are many ways for you to make a difference as part of our organization.

We do demand a commitment from you. The emergency services is a serious business requiring serious obligation. We'll be glad to show you what we do and suggest how you could help. But if you're not sure you can commit the time and energy necessary to succeed, please find another way to fill your time.

If you do feel qualified to meet the challenge, we welcome you, and encourage you to join us. Help us continue to fight the battle against fire and keep the Wake Forest community safe.
