Submission Guidelines

Do you know about an upcoming activity or special event of community interest? If so, then make sure it's listed on the Community Calendar.

The Community Calendar is a consolidated, all-in-one listing of upcoming local events. The Town of Wake Forest Communications Department offers the Community Calendar as a free service, and encourages members of the Wake Forest community to submit events for inclusion.

Listings on the Community Calendar are available to non-profit organizations - as long as the submitted event is determined by the communications department to be of sufficient interest to a general audience.

All proposed calendar entries should include the following:

  • Event title

  • Date and Time

  • Location, including a physical address

  • Brief description - it is recommended that you limit the description to a few sentences

  • Name of individual to contact for additional information

  • Contact phone number and/or E-mail address.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept flyers, posters or other printed materials that describe an event. In order to have your event included in the Community Calendar, please submit the information in written form as detailed above.

Send your submission via e-mail to Bill Crabtree.

Calendar Review

  • All submitted events are sent to the calendar editor for approval before they are published on the online calendar.

  • We will do our best to post a submitted event within 48-72 business hours. It is recommended that you submit your event to the calendar at least one week prior to the event.

  • You are responsible for checking the Community Calendar web page to ensure your event has been posted and all of the information is accurate.

  • The calendar editor reserves the right to decline event submissions.

  • The calendar editor reserves the right to edit event information for length, spelling, language and clarity.

  • At the discretion of the communications department, certain events may also be featured in Town of Wake Forest-related publications, including Our Town and E-News.

The Week Ahead

  • Listings received at least one week prior to the event will be included for publication in The Week Ahead - the town's weekly e-listing of upcoming community events.

  • The Week Ahead is emailed to approximately 4,000 E-News subscribers each week - typically on Thursday or Friday.

  • In special circumstances, The Week Ahead is emailed on Wednesday. To ensure your scheduled event's inclusion in that week's edition, please email your submission no later than Tuesday at 5 pm.
