A Message from the Wake Forest Fire Department
We would like to update everyone on the Wake Forest Fire Department's response and the precautions we are taking during the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
First, we are complying with all orders and directives from the Wake County Health Department, Wake County Emergency Operations Center and Wake County EMS.
In addition, we have closed all stations to visitors unless medical help is needed. We have also cancelled all station tours and fire prevention events.
However our puppet show can be found on our Youtube page, and http://www.sparky.org/ is a tremendous resource if you need activities for you children over the coming weeks.
On certain medical calls you may see us enter your house or your neighbor's house in more personal protective equipment than usual. This equipment includes a gown, facemask and eye protection. This action does not automatically mean you or your neighbor has the coronavirus. Instead, it means we are taking extra precautions to protect ourselves.
Finally, we are closely monitoring and evaluating all developments and any conditions that may impact our operations during this ever-changing situation. We are still coming to work to protect you, so please stay home to protect us.
There's something else you can do. In the event you need to call 9-1-1, please let the 911 dispatcher know if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
