Historic Wake Forest
The Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) and the Wake Forest Woman's Club will present their biennial Christmas Historic Home Tour on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Christmas Historic Home Tour is only offered in even-numbered years, but this year’s edition promises to be one of the biggest and best ever. Approximately 13 Wake Forest homes and other buildings will be decorated for the holidays and open for viewing as part of the self-guided tour. The event will also feature free bicycle rickshaw and horse drawn carriage rides, wonderful Christmas music, and refreshments.
Advance tickets may be purchased online at www.wakeforestnc.gov/marketplace.aspx for $15 each from Thursday, Nov. 1, through Monday, Nov. 26. Advance tickets can also be purchased at the following area locations:
- The Cotton Company, 306 S. White St.
- NC Specialty Shops, 150 S. White St.
- Olde English Tea Room, 219 S. White St.
- Red Door Interiors & Antiques, 221 S. White St.
- Wake Forest Coffee Company, 156 S. White St.
- Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce, 350 S. White St.
- Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St.
Tickets will be available for $20 each on the day of the tour at the Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 N. Main St. Well-mannered children under the age of 12 will be admitted free.
Also on the day of the tour, the HPC will offer a raffle for a one night stay at the Lion’s Gate Inn Bed & Breakfast. Proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will go towards the renovation of the Ailey Young House.
