The Wake Forest Parks and Recreation Department is looking for responsible adults interested in volunteering their time one night a week and an hour on Saturdays to coach youth basketball teams of all age groups.
Youth leagues are offered for boys and girls ages 5-17. Team practices are about to get underway and games will be played from December through February. Practices and games are held at the Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St., and in local school gymnasiums.
The Wake Forest Parks & Recreation Department’s Youth Basketball League is designed to teach fair play and sportsmanship, develop fundamental basketball skills, and promote a fun and healthy lifestyle. If you are interested in sharing these skills with young people, please contact Athletic Coordinator Edward Austin at 919-435-9562 or eaustin@wakeforestnc.gov.
Please note that all volunteer coaches must pass a background check.
