The Streets Division is comprised of 15 full-time employees who are responsible for maintaining all Town-owned streets.
The Streets Division patches potholes, removes dead animals and cleans and maintains ditches. The Division also cleans and maintains storm drains, installs speed bumps, cuts Town right of ways and removes trash from Wake Forest streets.
Within the Streets Division, Town maintenance crews mow and maintain the grounds of the Wake Forest Cemetery.
STREETS DIVISION PROJECTS
The Town of Wake Forest Streets Division is currently installing a sidewalk along North White Street from East Juniper Avenue to Moultonboro Avenue.
Other Streets Division initiatives include:
- Installation of the rain garden at the Northern Wake Senior Center
- Construction of the retaining wall located along >East Holding Avenue> and South Main Street
- Restructuring the round-a-bout at the intersection of South Main Street and Wait Avenue
- American Legion Hall
- Lane changes on Elm Avenue
- Re-lining parking spaces and "No Parking" curbs throughout Wake Forest
