Description
Bulk Waste is defined by the Town of Wake Forest Code of Ordinances as “refuse including appliances, furniture and other large items weighing in excess of 75 pounds each.”
The following are examples of bulk pickup items:
- Furniture
- Lawn mowers
- Swings
- Book shelves
- Bicycles
The Town of Wake Forest can not pickup up:
- Liquid paint
- Batteries
- Gasoline
- Oil
- Tires
- Any hazardous material
Note: Paint cans with dry paint only may be placed in the trash receptacle.
Frequency of Service
Bulk pickups are provided on Wednesdays on an as needed basis.
Preparation
All pickups must be scheduled. To schedule a bulk pickup, please call (919) 554-6120 or e-mail Betty Pearce by 2:00 pm on the Tuesday prior to the Wednesday pickup. Bulk that is scheduled before 2:00 pm on Tuesday will be picked up the following Wednesday.
Quantity
Subject to the availability of equipment and to the provisions of this section, the maximum quantity of bulky waste which will be collected is not regulated.
Point of Service
Bulky waste shall be placed on the premises at the curb but not blocking the street or sidewalk.
