Preschool Programs

Unless otherwise noted, all classes will be held at the J.B. Flaherty Park Community Center.   

Jumpstart Toddler Montessori (age 18 months-3)

Come explore the wonderful world of learning as you guide your children through our classroom full of educational stations. From math and science centers featuring  counting bears and enormous popping bubbles, to language arts centers. Each week, students will be exposed to new educational concepts as well as exploring “social” stations full of building blocks, cooking centers, train sets, puppets, and even a toddler-size bounce house. So help your toddler get a jump start on preschool through Toddler Montessori! Parent participation required.
No class November11 and 25.

Creative Dance Movement  (ages 2-3) 

An introduction to multiple styles of dance by allowing the child to interpret their own movements in an array of activities and dances. We will use nursery rhymes to teach musicality and make the class more youth friendly. Requirements: Flexible clothing, pink ballet slippers for girls, and black jazz shoes for boys.
No class October 22.

Beginning Ballet (ages 4-5)

Students will learn stretching, technique, and movements to encourage flexibility, dexterity, poise, grace, balance, and self confidence. We will learn all the ballet basics including the 5 positions, turns, and balance practices. Requirements: Ballet shoes with an elastic strap across the top of shoe and flexible clothing.
No class October 22.

Harvest Harmonies by Moving to the Music (ages 18 months-3) 

The air is getting chilly so turn up the heat in this lively class for our youngest music lovers. We will explore the magic of Autumn through circle time songs, educational games, and dramatic play for tiny toes. Your child will learn about pumpkins, fall leaves, apples, harvest time, and many other Fall concepts as we sing and dance our way through the season. Special events include art and craft projects, parachute games, and much more! Each child will receive a music bag which contains a CD of the music used in our class. Parent participation required.

Toddler Art (ages 18 months-3) 

You and your child will enjoy exploring the world of art through many projects and story- telling adventures. Parent participation required.
