Q:  Where can I register for programs and/or athletics?

A:  Registration forms are available for download, or can be picked up at Wake Forest Town Hall (401 Elm Avenue). Registration for Athletics programs will be accepted only during specified registration periods.

 

Q:   What do I need to register for programs or athletics?

A:   A completed registration form, along with payment, is required for registration. For youth athletics, a copy of the participant's birth certificate is required for age verification (required only with initial athletic program registration).

 

Q:   I've registered my child for an athletic league. What happens next?

A:   Players ages 8 and under are placed on teams by WFPRD staff, and will be contacted by the team coach regarding initial team practice. Players age 9 and above will enter into a draft for team placement.  For dates, times, and locations of league drafts, click HERE

 

Q:   What is the WFPRD refund policy?

A:   Class/Special Event fees are 100% refundable when cancelled by WFPRD. Anyone wishing to withdraw from a class/special event must submit a written request for a refund at least five (5) business days prior to the Class/Special Event begins. Athletic fees are 100% refundable if requested in writing within two weeks of a participant's first scheduled team practice. After the second week of practice, refunds will not be granted.

 

Q:   What programs, special events, and athletic leagues are offered by WFPRD?

A:   You may download the current RecConnect brochure for current information. 

 

Q:   Can I register online?

A:   Online registration for youth athletics begins with basketball registration (October 6-24).  ONLY youth athletics are eligible for online registration at this time. 

 

Q:   How can I pay for programs, events, or athletics? Where?

A:   All payments are received at Town Hall. Cash, checks, and debit cards andcredit cards (VISA and MasterCard) are accepted for payment of fees.

 

Q:   How can I reserve a facility (Community House or Alston-Massenburg Center)?

A:   Rental of these facilities require a completed Rental Agreement Form and a refundable damage deposit to confirm rental. Damage deposit for the Community House is $50, and for Alston-Massenburg Center, $40. Rental fees: Community House: $250, Alston-Massenburg Center: $60. Rental is on a daily basis, 7am-midnight on the day of rental. Rental Agreement Forms are available at Town Hall. You may call WFPRD (919 554 6180) to inquire about available dates.

 

Q:   What dates are available for rental? How do I reserve a date for next year?

A:   The facilities are available for rental on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the year, subject to WFPRD scheduling. You may call WFPRD (919 554 6180) to inquire about available dates. Reservations for 2009 will be accepted beginning on December 1, 2008. 

 

Q:   Can I reserve a facility on a long-term basis?

A:   The Wake Forest Community house is not available on a long-term, recurring rental basis.

 

Q:   Can I reserve an outdoor facility (park)?

A:   All outdoor facilities are open to the public on a first-come basis, subject to WFPRD schedules.

 

Q:   Are ballfields available for rental?  Flaherty Park Community Center?

A:   All outdoor facilities are open to the public on a first-come basis, subject to WFPRD schedules.  Field rental is available, subject to WFPRD scheduling. Contact Edward Austin, Athletic Coordinator, for details and fees for ballfield rental. The Flaherty Park Community Center is not available for rental.

 

Q:  For youth athletics registration, what determines whether I am considered a Wake Forest resident?

A:   If your residence is within the Town limits, your fee is the "in-town" rate. Property taxes paid by Town residents help fund the expenditures of the Town.

 

Q:   I own a business or property in Wake Forest. Do I still have to pay non-resident fees?

A:   Yes, unless your primary residence is within the Town limits.
