Police applications require additional materials including a notarized F-3 application. Applications may be downloaded from this website or obtained at Town Hall 401 Elm Avenue, Wake Forest, N.C. 27587. You may also call (919) 554-0118 to have an application mailed to you. Applications must be mailed or delivered to Town Hall by 5:00 p.m. on the closing day. You may also submit your application and resume electronically to Mitzi Franklin. When we receive an application, we send out a post card to each applicant to confirm receipt and to ensure consideration. To check on the status of a position, please call our job line at (919) 554-6198 for an update on the hiring process. You may also scroll to the bottom of this page for additional information on recently closed positions. All qualified applications are forwarded to the hiring department and as soon as we hear from the hiring manager, we update both this webpage and our job line. Unless there is an update posted, applications are still being reviewed. For general employees, we will contact you within two weeks of the position closing date if we are planning to pursue your candidacy. Our hiring process takes longer for police officers, however, we will contact you within three months of receiving your application if we are interested in pursuing your candidacy.

Police Officer (Public Safety Department)

Minimum Starting Salary: $37,066
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified officer to join our Public Safety Department. This individual will perform general law enforcement work to protect life and property within the Town of Wake Forest corporate limits. A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with a valid NC Drivers License. Applicants must have no criminal record and need to submit to a background check, a polygraph, a physical and psychological screening. Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) required. Only applicants with BLET Certification will be considered. Shift work required.
Construction Worker I (Streets Department)

Minimum Starting Salary: $27,659
We are seeking a dynamic team member to perform a variety of labor tasks in construction, maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks/curbs and storm drainage. This position requires experience in construction work and the ability to operate construction equipment and tools safely. Applicants must be able to read, write, follow directions and exert up to 100 pounds of force and endure exposure to all weather conditions. A good driving record is essential. Valid NCDL with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within six months of hire required. Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
