Engineering

The Town of Wake Forest Engineering Department is comprised of three civil/environmental engineers and four construction inspectors. They are responsible for erosion and stormwater plan review and permitting, engineering design work, local roadway improvement projects, traffic improvements, sidewalk improvement, construction inspection, and environmental education. Our work area is within Town right of way and stormwater easements.


Erosion & Sediment Control
Sediment is the number one polluter by volume in North Carolina. The Town regulates land disturbing activities over half an acre with an erosion and sediment contol permitting and inspection program. MORE>>


Stormwater Management
Increasing federal and state clean water regulations are causing cities and towns across the United States to adopt comprehensive stormwater management programs. In response to the increased emphasis, the Town of Wake Forest has developed a stormwater management program designed to protect its drainage infrastructure, improve the efficiency of the overall drainage system, and ultimately enhance the local environment. Environmental Education
The Town of Wake Forest has developed a number of programs to help educate citizens interested in learning about their environment. The engineering department is avaliable to offer instruction on engineering, stormwater, erosion, watersheds, water quality, and various other environmental topics.
