Posted by Bill Crabtree 03/14/2017

The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts is offering “The Art of A Cappella” on Saturdays from March 25-May 6. Classes are scheduled for youth in grades 3-5 from 9:30-10:15 a.m.; grades 6-8 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.; and grades 9-12 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

With the international success of the Pitch Perfect films and hit television programs such as Glee and The Sing Off, vocal music and the contemporary a cappella movement are now more popular than ever. Join the members of Transit, Raleigh’s very own professional vocal band, as they guide you through the ins and outs of this exciting musical style.

Over the course of six class sessions tailored to the age and grade level of participating students, the members of Transit will cover key a cappella music topics such as arranging, solo style and interpretation, vocal percussion, sound equipment, and more, to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to become successful a cappella musicians.

To cap off the program, Transit will present a rocking evening concert that will feature participating students.

Class size for each session is limited, so be sure to sign up soon for your chance to be a part of this ultimate a cappella experience.

The cost for participants in grades 3-5 is $85, while the cost is $110 for participants in grades 6-8 and 9-12.

Online registration is available at http://wakeforestnc.recdesk.com/. Payment can be made with debit card, MasterCard and Visa.
