The Town of Wake Forest is currently accepting applications for police officers. To be considered for employment, applicants must complete a Town of Wake Forest employment application form and a Criminal Justice Personal History Statement, also known as Form F-3.

Processing of police applicants takes approximately three to five months. Requirements and procedures have been established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and the Town of Wake Forest Police Department.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
All applicants must have graduated from an accredited high school or possess an approved General Education Development (GED), College educated applicants are highly desired. All applicants must have successfully completed Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET).
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
All officers must live within a (30) mile radius of the contiguous town limits of Wake Forest. If an applicant is hired then he/she will have (1) year to move within the (30) mile limit.
STARTING SALARY
$37,066 no prior experience or degree
$37,992 two years prior NC Sworn Law Enforcement experience or four years out-of-state experience
$38,919 five years prior NC Sworn Law Enforcement experience or 10 years out-of-state experience
ADDITIONS TO SALARIES
2.5% two-year degree (law enforcement-related)
5% four-year degree (law enforcement-related)
2.5% applicants that possess an advanced NC Law Enforcement Certification
5% automatic salary increase after six months of employment with the Town of Wake Forest
2.5% average annual cost of living raise to be determined by the Town of Wake Forest
5% officers that fluently speak Spanish
$1000 annual bonus paid to officers for "Superior" performance of POPAT (Police Officer’s Physical Abilities Test)
