CARR RECOGNIZED AS TOWN'S EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
WAKE FOREST, NC – September 19, 2005 – The Town of Wake Forest recently recognized Senior Code Enforcement Officer J.J. Carr as its “2005 Employee of the Year.”
Town Manager Mark Williams presented the award to Carr, 35, on September 10 during the luncheon portion of the Town’s first-ever “Family Fun Day.” Carr was accompanied by his wife, Wendy, and their three children, Gabriel, John Robert, and Emily.
The Louisburg-native and Louisburg High School graduate has been employed with the Town of Wake Forest for 10 years. Although “honored” and “very excited” to win the award, Carr emphasized that working for the Town is a “team effort.”
“I work with a lot of talented people that are always willing to help and go the extra mile,” he said.
Williams selects the “Employee of the Year” from among nominations submitted by Town employees. Staff members who submit a co-worker’s name for consideration must include with their submission a written justification explaining why he or she believes the nominee is deserving of the award.
Wake Forest Inspections Technician Rhonda Alderman was one of several Town employees who nominated Carr. In her written essay, Alderman noted Carr’s outstanding demeanor and professionalism as two of the reasons he was worthy of the honor.
“J.J. never gets stressed,” wrote Alderman. “You never know when he's having a bad day because he’s very easy going. He never complains about how much work he has to do, and no job is too big for him. He is very knowledgeable.
“We receive many compliments from contractors on J.J. because of this thoroughness and fairness to everyone. J.J. is the role model and perfect choice for Employee of the Year!”
