Commitment to Transparency

The Town of Wake Forest is committed to being open, transparent and accessible.

North Carolina has two Sunshine Laws to promote transparency in government: the Open Meetings Law and the Public Records Law. These laws give the public the right to attend meetings and to access documents deemed a public record.

To raise Wake Forest citizens' awareness of their rights under Sunshine laws, the Town provides information on its website concerning how to access and review public records and a calendar that displays Town meetings. Wake Forest also offers an open data portal designed to make data more easily accessible.

In addition, Wake Forest posts Board of Commissioners meeting agendas, summaries, and minutes and makes meetings available on-demand in our streaming video archive.

BOC monthly meeting agendas and summaries are also available via email by subscribing to E-Notifier.
