Police Officer (Public Safety Department)

Minimum Starting Salary: $37,066
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified officer to join our Public Safety Department. This individual will perform general law enforcement work to protect life and property within the Town of Wake Forest corporate limits. A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with a valid NC Drivers License. Applicants must have no criminal record and need to submit to a background check, a polygraph, a physical and psychological screening. Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) required. Only applicants with BLET Certification will be considered. Shift work required.

Night Shift Telecommunicator (Public Safety Department)

Minimum Starting Salary: $32,019
We are seeking an enthusiastic team-player to receive incoming routine and emergency calls and requests for service concerning emergencies and general information. The ideal candidate must be able to operate a variety of electronic equipment, multi-task and answer several incoming calls at once. Considerable public contact required. DCI operator certification is preferred and a thorough background investigation will be conducted, as this is a highly sensitive position. High school diploma or equivalent required. Hours of work: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., 4 nights on, 4 nights off.

Tree Trimming Technician II (Electric Tree Trimming Department)

Salary Range:
$37,066 - $48,721
We are looking for a dynamic team player to work near energized conductors/high voltage lines and operate specialized, heavy forestry/arboricultural vehicles and equipment working from an aerial lift and/or climbing trees and skillfully using power hand tools to perform multiple tree pruning, removal, planting and maintenance functions within an urban forestry program.  Work is performed on street rights-of-way, in parks, in sewer outfalls, and around Towns facilities and land holdings. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment under general supervision. This position also requires responses to emergency tree maintenance needs, which are sometimes after normal business hours.  Class A CDL and the ability to obtain Line Clearance Tree Trimmer Certification within 6 months of hire is required. Hours of work: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
