All qualified applications are forwarded to the hiring department and as soon as we hear from the hiring manager, we update both this webpage and our job line. Unless there is an update posted, applications are still being reviewed. For general employees, we will contact you within two weeks of the position closing date if we are planning to pursue your candidacy. Our hiring process takes longer for police officers, however, we will contact you within three months of receiving your application if we are interested in pursuing your candidacy.

Yard Waste Collector (Environmental Services Department)

Minimum Starting Salary: $23,893
We are looking for a team member to perform routine work in yard waste collection and the delivery of Solid Waste and Recycling Carts. The ideal candidate will operate construction equipment including trucks, dump trucks, knuckle boom truck, compactor truck and other medium and light equipment. This person will serve on a crew to collect yard waste such as limbs, grass clippings and leaves. Must have ability to work cooperatively as a team member and respond courteously to citizens. Valid NCDL required. Must be able to read, write and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently and 20 pounds constantly. Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Maintenance Specialist (Parks & Recreation Department)

We are seeking a team member to perform a variety of tasks in landscaping, horticulture, maintenance & repair of municipal parks, recreation & other facilities. The ideal candidate will operate equipment to mow lawns, trim shrubs, landscape, paint, repair fences & gates, remove debris & line ball fields. Some carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, and seasonal weekend work may be required. Work schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
