Engineering

OVERVIEW

The Wake Forest Engineering Department is comprised of three civil/environmental engineers and four construction inspectors. We are responsible for erosion and stormwater plan review and permitting, design work, local roadway improvement projects, traffic improvments, sidewalk improvement, and construction inspection. We test new technologies to help filter stormwater pollutants, retrofit outdated measures, and continually strive to improve the environment. We also repair streams, plant trees, and teach the community how to conserve and use their resources wisely. Our work area is within Town right of way and stormwater easements.

STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

Increasing federal and state clean water regulations are causing cities and towns across the United States to adopt comprehensive stormwater management programs. In response to the increased emphasis, the Town of Wake Forest has developed a stormwater management program designed to protect its drainage infrastructure, improve the efficiency of the overall drainage system, and ultimately enhance the local environment.
