Thank you for supporting Centennial Images: An Exhibit of Wake Forest Art. The exhibit featured twenty area artists who generously donated works of art to be included in Connections...100 Years of Wake Forest History, a book chronicling the people, places, and events of Wake Forest’s first 100 years. Those pieces of art, along with additional drawings, paintings and photographs of local interest were exhibited at the Powers-Ludas House, located at 112 N. Main Ave., from May 1 through 17.
The exhibit and the opening reception were free and open to the public. Refreshments were served while attendees had an opportunity to meet several of the artists and listen to music performed by "Mister Felix."
Patrons had the opportunity to both own one of these original works of art and express appreciation for the talent and generosity of these artists by pledging a Purchase Award. A Purchase Award was not a donation, but a commitment to select and buy artwork. Patrons could pledge a specific dollar amount or indicate the amount-not-to-exceed limit and select the artwork of their choice. Some of the artwork was priced at $100 with a few pieces exceeding $1,000, but most were in the $150-$300 range.
All of the works are originals - not prints - and are framed and ready to hang in your home or office.
